Best Slots at New York New York Las Vegas - What to Know Before You Play

New York New York Slots - Editor's Comment

New York-New York is not a small neighbourhood casino with a handful of machines. The official MGM Resorts slots page for the property states that the casino offers more than 900 slots in varying denominations, with a limit range of $.01 to $100. That scale is the main reason the venue appears in searches for the best slots in Las Vegas: you can move from low-denomination video slots to higher-limit play without leaving the building.

The official page also names a set of games that are either on the floor or promoted by the casino, including Wheel of Fortune, Megabucks, Blazing 7's, Top Dollar, Monopoly, Goldfish and Wizard of Oz. It highlights newer or featured titles such as Lightning Link, Phoenix Link, Coin Trio Buffalo, Spooky Link, Hyper Link and Magic Treasures Gold. Those names are useful because they come from the operator rather than a player forum.

What the official page does not do is rank the best-paying machines or publish RTP figures for individual games. That matters. A slot's return to player is a long-run theoretical average, not a promise for a session, and it is set by the game's maths model rather than by the venue's marketing. Any claim that one machine at New York-New York is 'looser' than another should be treated with caution unless it is backed by the game's own published information.

The third-party URComped slot tagging page for New York-New York shows player-tagged titles such as Buffalo Cash Express Gold Class, Pets, Wheel of Fortune Classic, Zeus, Power Strike Golden 8S, Willy Wonka Pure Imagination, The Princess Bride, Crazy Cash Rick's Desert Oasis, Super Wheel Blast Miss Liberty, Dancing Drums, Ultimate Fire Link, Game of Thrones, Roll the Bones, Night Jasmine and Penn & Teller. These tags are community reports, not a live floor map, so a game may have moved or been removed since it was last tagged.

What is New York New York Hotel & Casino?

New York-New York Hotel & Casino is an MGM Resorts property on the Las Vegas Strip. Its casino floor includes a large slot area, table games and a race and sports book, and the slots page is part of the official New York-New York site. The venue is not an online casino and it does not offer Irish players a remote account in the way a licensed online operator would. It is a physical Las Vegas casino, so any visit involves travel to Nevada and play under the rules that apply there.

For readers in Ireland, the practical distinction is between a destination casino review and an online slots review. New York-New York's official pages describe the on-property experience: machine counts, denominations, featured games, MGM Rewards and jackpot stories. They do not set out Irish licensing, euro deposit methods or online bonus terms, because those are not part of the venue's offer. If you are looking for regulated online play in Ireland, the relevant information sits with Irish-licensed operators and the GRAI licensing guide, not with a Las Vegas casino's slot floor.

New York New York Slots At A Glance

The table below summarises only what the official slots page states. It is not a ranking of payout quality, and it does not include RTP or volatility because the casino does not publish those figures for individual machines on that page.

The denomination range is the most useful practical detail for a visitor. It means the floor can accommodate someone who wants to play pennies per line and someone who wants a $100 denomination machine, but it says nothing about how often either type pays. The game's own rules and maths determine that.

Slot Selection and What Players Tag

The official page divides its presentation into popular games, new arrivals and coming soon. Lightning Link and Phoenix Link are presented as popular, with the casino describing features such as a Hold & Spin jackpot and a Phoenix Feature that adds to a bonus counter. Coin Trio Buffalo, Spooky Link, Hyper Link and Magic Treasures Gold appear under new or upcoming headings, with descriptions of free games, multipliers, jackpots and bonus wheels.

The community tagging page adds a different layer. It lists games that players have reported seeing at New York-New York, including Aristocrat titles such as Buffalo Cash Express Gold Class, Super Wheel Blast Miss Liberty and Game of Thrones; IGT titles such as Pets and Wheel of Fortune Classic; WMS titles such as Zeus, Willy Wonka Pure Imagination and The Princess Bride; Bally Technologies titles such as Power Strike Golden 8S, Crazy Cash Rick's Desert Oasis, Ultimate Fire Link and Roll the Bones; and titles from High 5 Games and Everi Games. The most recent tags on that page include Wheel of Fortune Classic in March 2025, Dancing Drums and Game of Thrones in February 2025, and Roll the Bones in May 2025.

Those dates are useful context but they are not a guarantee. A tag means a player reported the game at some point, not that it is running today. If a specific machine is the reason for your visit, the casino's own marketing line is the better place to ask before you travel.

RTP, Payouts and Volatility at New York New York

New York-New York's official slots page does not publish RTP, hit frequency or volatility for the machines on its floor. That is normal for a land-based casino: the game manufacturer and the jurisdiction's gaming rules govern the maths, and the venue's marketing page focuses on titles and features rather than return percentages.

It is worth being precise about what RTP means. Return to player is a long-run theoretical average based on the game's maths model. It is not a session prediction, it does not mean a machine is due a win, and it does not improve because you have played longer or increased your bet. Two machines with the same name can also have different configurations in different casinos, so a figure published for an online version of a game should not be assumed to apply to a machine on a Las Vegas floor.

The official page does publish jackpot highlights. It states that in August, New York-New York paid out over $5,500,000 in jackpots, with one guest hitting the largest individual jackpot of $144,000. It also reports a $572,660.58 jackpot won on Wheel of Fortune Triple Red Hot 7s Gold Spin Slots on a $1.75 bet. Those are individual results, not typical outcomes, and they should not be read as an expected return. For a fuller explanation of how RTP works, see our RTP guide.

How to Approach the Slot Floor

If you are visiting New York-New York and want to play slots, the practical steps are straightforward:

1. Decide your budget before you enter the casino and treat it as spending money, not as an investment.
2. Check the denomination and bet level on the machine before you press spin. The official range runs from $.01 to $100, so the difference between machines can be very large.
3. Read the game's help screen or paytable if you are unfamiliar with it. Features such as Hold & Spin, free games and multipliers vary by title.
4. Use an MGM Rewards card if you want slot play to count towards the programme. The casino's Holiday Gift Shoppe information states that members earn 100 Gift Points for every $1 SLOT DOLLAR earned on slot play.
5. Set a time or loss limit and stop when you reach it. GameSense information is linked from the casino's slots page.

There is no strategy that makes a slot machine more likely to pay. Choosing a denomination or a game theme is a preference decision, not a way to improve the odds.

MGM Rewards and Slot Events

MGM Rewards is the loyalty programme used across MGM Resorts destinations. The New York-New York slots page links to the programme and describes a Holiday Gift Shoppe where members earn Gift Points on slot play, video poker, video lottery terminals and table games at MGM Rewards destinations nationwide. The page states that members earn 100 Gift Points for every $1 SLOT DOLLAR earned on slot play, and that Gift Points can be redeemed for jewellery, electronics, home and sporting goods, gift cards and FREEPLAY.

The same page describes an MGM Rewards Slot Series in which participants earn Medallions in qualifying slot events throughout the year, with a finale prize pool that includes a $200,000 cash grand prize. The finale is listed for ARIA on January 13-16, 2027. These are programme terms published by the operator, and they can change. If you are planning a trip around a specific event, confirm the current details with MGM Rewards before you travel.

Where to Play and What to Expect

New York-New York is a physical casino on the Las Vegas Strip. You play its slots on the property, not through an Irish online account. The casino's official slots page is the primary source for the floor's headline details, and the property's main site provides contact and marketing information for visitors.

For Irish readers who want to compare this with regulated online play at home, the relevant starting points are our Irish casino reviews and the Irish gambling law guide. Those pages deal with remote operators and Irish licensing, which is a different framework from a Nevada destination casino. Do not assume that a game you see in Las Vegas is available online in Ireland under the same terms, or that an online bonus applies to a land-based machine.
