Mohegan Sun Slots Review 2026: Nearly 4,000 Machines, Dragon Link & Hold & Spin

Mohegan Sun Slots: Editor’s Comment

Mohegan Sun does not try to be a boutique slot room. The official casino page describes a floor of nearly 4,000 slot machines across two casinos, with penny, nickel, quarter, dollar and high-limit denominations, plus classic three-reel games, modern video slots and progressive jackpots. That scale is the appeal: if you want variety rather than a curated handful of titles, this is the kind of floor where you can move from a low-stake video slot to a high-limit machine without leaving the building.

The slot page leans heavily into two things: Dragon Link and Hold & Spin. Mohegan Sun says it has the most Dragon Link games in Connecticut and that its Dragon Link machines offer a guaranteed $1 Million Major Jackpot payout exclusive to guests at Mohegan Sun. It also advertises over 250 Hold & Spin bonus feature games in one area. Those are operator claims, not independent test results, but they are specific enough to be useful when planning a visit.

What the official pages do not do is publish a full machine-by-machine list or individual RTP figures for named games. The slots page shows a live “Today’s Slot Payout” figure, but that is a daily aggregate, not a game-level return-to-player percentage. For players who want to compare theoretical RTP before travelling, that information is not available here. The honest position is that Mohegan Sun is a large, well-equipped slot floor with a strong progressive and Hold & Spin selection, and the detail you need for a specific machine is best confirmed on site.

What We Liked

• Nearly 4,000 slot machines across two connected casinos, so the selection is unusually broad for a single resort.
• Denominations from penny slots up to $100 games, which suits both casual players and high-limit players.
• A dedicated Hold & Spin area with over 250 games, according to the official slots page.
• Dragon Link themes including Autumn Moon, Genghis Khan, Golden Century, Happy & Prosperous, Panda Magic, Peace & Long Life and Peacock Princess.
• Momentum rewards can be earned on eligible play and redeemed on property for dining, hotel stays, spa, entertainment and shopping.

What is Mohegan Sun?

Mohegan Sun is a casino resort in Connecticut, United States, set across 185 acres along the Thames River. Its gaming floor is divided into two distinct casinos: Casino of the Earth and Casino of the Sky. Casino of the Earth is the larger of the two and houses the main slot and table game floor, the FanDuel Sportsbook, the Race Book, the Poker Room and an Asian Gaming area. Casino of the Sky offers a more intimate gaming experience and, according to the official site, more than 1,800 slots and over 90 table games.

For slot players, the key point is that Mohegan Sun is a physical casino destination, not an online-only brand. The resort also operates a separate Connecticut-only online casino through FanDuel, which is a different product with its own eligibility rules and terms. This page focuses on the land-based slot floor, with a short section on the online app because the two are often confused.

Mohegan Sun Slot Machine At A Glance

The table below summarises the slot-floor facts confirmed by Mohegan Sun’s official pages. It does not list individual game RTPs, because those are not published on the pages reviewed.

The scale is the headline. A floor of nearly 4,000 machines means you are unlikely to run out of choice, but it also means the experience is closer to a large gaming hall than a small local casino. The official slots page notes that if you are looking for a specific game, a Player Services booth can help.

Mohegan Sun Slot RTP, Payout and Volatility

Mohegan Sun’s slots page displays a live “Today’s Slot Payout” figure, which the site describes as reflecting the transparency players expect. That figure is a daily aggregate across the slot floor, not a theoretical return-to-player percentage for any individual machine. It should not be read as a prediction of what a session will return.

Return to player, or RTP, is a long-run theoretical average. It describes what percentage of all money wagered on a game is paid back to players over millions of spins. It does not mean a session will return that percentage, and it does not make a machine “due” a win. Volatility describes how a game’s payouts are distributed: low-volatility games tend to pay smaller amounts more often, while high-volatility games can go longer between wins but may produce larger ones. Neither figure is a guarantee.

Mohegan Sun does not publish per-game RTP or volatility on the pages reviewed. If that information matters to you, the practical approach is to check the game’s information screen on the machine itself, where many modern slots display their rules and sometimes their RTP. For a general explanation of how RTP works, see our RTP guide.

How to Play Mohegan Sun Slots

Playing slots at Mohegan Sun follows the same basic process as at most large US casinos. The steps below are based on the official casino information and general slot-floor practice.

1. Choose a casino area. Decide whether you want Casino of the Earth or Casino of the Sky. Casino of the Earth is the larger floor; Casino of the Sky has more than 1,800 slots and over 90 table games.
2. Pick a denomination. Machines range from penny slots to high-limit games. Set a budget before you sit down and choose a denomination that fits it.
3. Check the game rules. Many modern video slots display paytable and feature information on screen. Take a moment to read it, especially for Hold & Spin or progressive games.
4. Use your Momentum card if you have one. Mohegan Sun’s Momentum programme tracks play and can earn rewards. Insert your card where the machine provides a reader.
5. Set a session limit. Decide in advance how much you are willing to spend and how long you plan to play. Slot outcomes are random, and no strategy changes the odds.
6. Ask for help if needed. The official slots page says experienced attendants are available to help you find a game.

Mohegan Sun Gameplay, Graphics & Sound

Because Mohegan Sun is a physical casino rather than a single game, “gameplay, graphics and sound” depends entirely on which machine you choose. The floor spans classic three-reel slots, modern video slots and video poker, so the experience ranges from simple mechanical reels to large-format video cabinets with animated bonus rounds.

The official slots page highlights several current cabinet and game families. Dragon Link games offer Hold & Spin action with bonus rounds and free games. Lightning Dollar Link is described as offering higher line counts and bet options inspired by Dragon Link, plus a Free Games feature triggered by three or more scattered symbols. Ultimate Fire Link games are described as fast-paced progressives with a Free Games Bonus and the Fire Link Feature. Other named titles include House of the Dragon, Jackpot Buffalo, Invaders Attack Again From the Planet Moolah, Super Hot Flaming Pots, Kong: Skull Island, Huff N’ Even More Puff Grand and The Wizard of Oz: I’ll Get You My Pretty.

Sound and graphics vary by cabinet. The larger licensed titles tend to use video screens, themed music and animated bonus sequences, while classic reel machines are more restrained. If you prefer a particular style, the floor is large enough that you can usually find it.

Mohegan Sun Slot Features

Slot features at Mohegan Sun are game-specific, but the official pages describe several recurring feature types across the floor.

• Hold & Spin. The official slots FAQ explains that Hold & Spin bonus slots lock specific symbols for multiple spins, and the player aims to match and lock symbols during re-spins to increase winnings. Mohegan Sun says it has over 250 Hold & Spin bonus feature games in one convenient area.
• Progressive jackpots. A progressive slot takes a small fraction of every bet and adds it to the total jackpot until somebody wins. Mohegan Sun names Dragon Link as among its most popular progressive games.
• Free games. Several named games, including Lightning Dollar Link and Ultimate Fire Link, advertise free games features. The exact trigger and rules vary by title.
• Video poker. The floor includes video poker titles such as Pick’em Poker, Ultimate X Poker and All Star Poker.
• High-limit slots. A separate high-limit area includes Coin Trio, Triple Extreme, Triple Supreme, Quick Hits, Lion Link, Red Festival Baozhuzhao and Spooky Link.

Feature availability depends on the individual machine. The official slots page notes that the slot floor is refreshed regularly with new machines.

Bonus Features: Wilds, Multipliers, and Free Spins

Mohegan Sun does not publish a single set of wild, multiplier or free-spin rules, because those are properties of individual games rather than the casino. What the official pages do confirm is that the floor includes games with free games features, Hold & Spin mechanics and progressive jackpots.

For example, the official description of Lightning Dollar Link mentions a Free Games feature where three or more scattered symbols award free games. Jackpot Buffalo is described as offering multiple free game styles, including Mystery Buffalo reveal stacks, Double Buffalo twin spins and increased wild multipliers, with a Hold & Spin that can give up to 40 Cash-on-Reel prizes. Dragon Link games are described as offering Hold & Spin action with big bonus rounds and free games.

If a specific wild, multiplier or free-spin rule matters to you, check the paytable on the machine. The casino’s own pages do not list per-game feature rules in detail.

Other Mohegan Sun Features

Beyond slots, Mohegan Sun offers table games, poker, sports betting and a race book. The official casino page describes more than 300 table games covering blackjack, roulette, craps, baccarat and poker variants, plus a 33-table Poker Room. The FanDuel Sportsbook is open 24/7 inside Casino of the Earth and features a 140-foot video wall and 33 betting kiosks. The Race Book is open daily from 11:00am and offers thoroughbred, harness and greyhound racing.

For slot players, the most relevant extra is the Momentum rewards programme. Momentum members who link their online casino and Momentum accounts can earn Momentum Dollars and Status Points through eligible online casino play, and redeem Momentum Dollars on property for dining, hotel stays, spa treatments, golf, entertainment and retail shopping. One Momentum Dollar equals one dollar toward those experiences, according to the official online casino page.

Where to Play Mohegan Sun Slots

Mohegan Sun slots are played on site at the resort in Connecticut. The slot floor is spread across Casino of the Earth and Casino of the Sky. Casino of the Earth is the larger area and includes the main slot and table game floor, the FanDuel Sportsbook, the Race Book, the Poker Room and the Asian Gaming area. Casino of the Sky has more than 1,800 slots and over 90 table games, and is also home to the Sky Slot Tournament Zone next to The Cabaret Theatre.

There is also a separate Mohegan Sun online casino for players physically located in Connecticut. That product is operated with FanDuel and is subject to its own terms. It is not the same as the land-based slot floor, and it is not available to players outside Connecticut. For players in Ireland, the land-based resort requires travel to the United States, and the online casino is not available here.

Other Slot Games You Might Enjoy
