Greeley Casinos 2026: Why There's No Casino in Greeley & Where the Nearest Slots Are

Editor's Comment

Greeley is a straightforward case: there is no casino listed in the city itself, and the nearest real slot floors sit in Black Hawk, about an hour's drive away. That's not a knock on Greeley; it's simply how Colorado's limited gaming map works, with the historic mountain towns holding the licences. If you want to spin reels in person, Black Hawk is where you're heading. If you want to spin on your phone, a social casino app like HelloMillions is available in Colorado, but it's virtual-coin entertainment, not real-money gambling.

What We Liked

• The nearest real slot floors are clearly documented, with distances and machine counts from the CasinosAvenue directory.
• Ameristar Black Hawk publishes its own floor details (over 940 slots, 40 table games and 22 poker tables) so you know what you're driving to.
• Colorado players have a legitimate social casino option in HelloMillions, which lists Colorado among the 35 states plus DC where the app is available.
• Black Hawk's venues range from small (around 70 machines at Bally's East) to large (975 at The Lodge), so there's a floor for most budgets.

Is There a Casino in Greeley, Colorado?

Based on the sources reviewed, no. The CasinosAvenue search for casinos in and near Greeley returns "No results available" and then lists venues in Black Hawk, each marked at 55–59 miles from the city. That's the clearest signal available: Greeley itself doesn't appear in the directory as a casino location.

That doesn't mean there's nothing to do in Greeley; it means that if slots are the goal, the trip is to Black Hawk. Colorado's limited gaming is concentrated in the historic mountain towns rather than the Front Range cities, which is why a Greeley search keeps surfacing Black Hawk results.

Greeley Casinos At A Glance

Distances and machine counts are as listed by the CasinosAvenue directory and, for Ameristar, by the venue's own casino page.

The Nearest Slot Floors: Black Hawk

Black Hawk is the practical answer for Greeley players. The directory lists a dense cluster of venues along Main Street and nearby, including:

• Horseshoe Black Hawk to 900 slot machines, listed at 55 miles from Greeley.
• Ameristar Casino and Resort: over 940 slot and video machines, 40 table games and 22 live poker tables, listed at 59 miles.
• The Lodge Casino & Hotel: 975 slot machines and 17 gaming tables, listed at 59 miles.
• Black Hawk Monarch Casino: described as carrying the newest slot machines and table games, listed at 59 miles.
• Lady Luck Casino, Black Hawk: over 400 slot and video poker machines, listed at 59 miles.
• Bally's Black Hawk North: over 400 slots, 8 table games and a High Limit area, listed at 59 miles.
• Bally's Black Hawk West: around 200 slots including classic and modern games, listed at 59 miles.
• Bally's Black Hawk East: around 70 slot machines, the smallest of the three Bally's properties, listed at 59 miles.
• Saratoga Casino Black Hawk: over 400 slot machines, listed at 59 miles.
• Sasquatch Casino: more than 145 slot machines, listed at 59 miles.
• Wild Card Casino and Bull Durham Casino: smaller Main Street venues, listed at 59 miles.
• Gilpin Casino: a smaller venue open 24/7 with a variety of slot machines, listed at 59 miles.

For a Greeley day trip, Ameristar and The Lodge are the two floors with the largest documented machine counts, and both sit on the same Main Street strip.

What Ameristar Black Hawk Actually Offers

Ameristar's own casino page gives the clearest picture of a single Black Hawk floor. It describes a two-story casino with "940 slot and video machines, 40 table games, and 22 live poker tables," and notes slot denominations ranging from 1¢ to $100. Table games include Blackjack, Roulette, Craps, Head's Up Hold'em and Flop Poker, with a dedicated high-limit area on the first floor. There's also a poker room and a sportsbook with a 24-foot video wall and 13 betting kiosks.

One practical detail for anyone planning a visit: Ameristar states a zero-tolerance policy for under-21s gambling or drinking, and cites section 44-30-809 of the Colorado Limited Gaming Act, under which it is unlawful for anyone under 21 to play or collect winnings from limited gaming or a slot machine. Guests under 21 must be accompanied by a parent, guardian or adult aged 21+ in permitted areas.

HelloMillions: A Colorado-Available Social Casino App

If the search for "Greeley casinos" is really about spinning slots on your phone, the HelloMillions app is the relevant source here, but it's important to be precise about what it is. The Google Play listing describes it as "the social casino app" offering "1,500+ real-style slot machines, jackpot slots and Las Vegas casino slots, with zero real money gambling." It is not a Greeley casino and not a real-money gambling product.

Colorado is explicitly listed among the 35 US states plus the District of Columbia where the app is available. The listing states users must be 21 or over, that no purchase is necessary, and that there is no real money gaming offered in the app. Coins are virtual, and the app's own terms describe a redemption process for players who accumulate winnings: the developer's published guidance says redemptions are aimed at completion within 3 business days, though it notes this can occasionally take longer.

In short: HelloMillions is a virtual-coin social casino that Colorado players can download, not a substitute for a Black Hawk slot floor.

Where to Play: Real Slots vs Social Slots

There are two distinct paths for a Greeley player, and they shouldn't be confused:

• Real-money slots: drive to Black Hawk (55–59 miles) and play at a licensed Colorado casino floor such as Ameristar, The Lodge, Horseshoe or Monarch.
• Social/virtual slots: download a social casino app like HelloMillions, which is available in Colorado and uses virtual coins rather than real-money wagers.

This review hasn't established a specific licence for any individual Black Hawk operator beyond what the venues themselves publish, so if licensing matters to you, check the operator's own regulatory disclosures before you travel or deposit.
