Best Slots at Choctaw Durant: What to Know Before You Play

Editor's Comment

Choctaw Durant is not a small locals casino with a few hundred machines. The official newsroom describes a floor of more than 7,400 slot machines, and the 2023 Strictly Slots results back that up with wins across categories like Best Video Slots, Best Quarter Slots, Best $5+ Slots, Best High-End Slot Area, Best Slot Club and Best Non-Smoking Casino/Area. That breadth is the real story here: whatever denomination or theme you prefer, the odds are good that this floor has a version of it.

What this guide does not do is pretend there is a single objectively 'best' machine. Slot outcomes are random, and no list can promise a payout. What we can do is separate what the venue officially confirms from what players commonly report, and point you toward the categories the property itself has been recognised for.

What We Liked

• More than 7,400 slot machines across the property, per the official newsroom.
• 23 Strictly Slots Best of Slots Awards in 2023, including 12 first-place wins.
• Recognised categories cover video slots, video poker, quarter slots, $5+ slots, high-end slot area, slot club and non-smoking area.
• A large non-smoking casino area, which won first place in its category.
• Player-favourite titles like Lightning Link, Dragon Link, Buffalo Gold and 88 Fortunes are widely reported on the floor.

What is Choctaw Casino & Resort: Durant?

Choctaw Casino & Resort: Durant is a AAA Four Diamond casino resort and entertainment destination in southeastern Oklahoma, about an hour north of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. According to the property's own newsroom, it is the flagship location of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma's gaming operations and includes more than 7,400 slot machines, table games, a poker room, and a large non-smoking casino.

The wider resort is substantial: more than 1,600 rooms and suites, 20 restaurants, 21 bars and lounges, six retail stores, two fitness centres, a spa, two outdoor pools and a water park. The family-friendly District adds 20 bowling lanes, a six-screen movie theatre and 70 arcade games. There is also a 77-camper RV park across from the casino.

For slot players, the key point is scale. This is not a venue where you will run out of machines to try; it is a venue where you need a plan for narrowing down what to play.

Choctaw Durant Slot Floor At A Glance

The award categories are useful because they tell you what the property is known for rather than which single machine to sit at. If you care about video slots, video poker, high-limit play or a non-smoking floor, those are the areas the venue has been specifically recognised for.

Slot Titles Players Commonly Mention

The official newsroom does not publish a game-by-game list, so the specific titles below come from a user-generated article on Drawspace that names seven popular machines at the property. Treat this as a starting point for what you might see, not a guaranteed inventory list.

• Lightning Link: a series with themes including magic, dragons and wildlife, built around a Hold & Spin bonus feature.
• Buffalo Gold: a buffalo-themed game with a Free Games feature.
• Wheel of Fortune: the long-running wheel-spin classic.
• Dragon Link: another Hold & Spin series, with dragon, magic and Asian-themed variants.
• Lock It Link: a series built around a Lock It Link feature that locks symbols in place.
• 88 Fortunes: an Asian-themed game with 243 ways to win and a Fu Bat Jackpot feature offering four progressive jackpots.
• Dancing Drums: an Asian-themed game with a Fu Babies Jackpot feature and four progressive jackpots.

These are the kinds of titles that dominate modern casino floors, and they fit the award categories the property won for video slots and progressive slots. If you already know you like Hold & Spin mechanics or Asian-themed progressives, this is a reasonable shortlist to look for first.

How to Approach a Floor This Size

With more than 7,400 machines, walking the floor without a plan is the fastest way to burn time and budget. A few practical steps help:

1. Decide your denomination first. The property won awards across penny, quarter, 50-cent, dollar and $5+ categories, so you can pick a band and stay in it.
2. Choose smoking or non-smoking. The large non-smoking casino won first place in its category, so if smoke bothers you, start there.
3. Pick a mechanic you enjoy. Hold & Spin, free games, progressive jackpots and wheel bonuses are all well represented.
4. Set a session budget before you sit down. No machine changes the underlying maths, and a big floor makes it easy to keep feeding notes.
5. Use the players club. The property won first place for Best Slot Club, Best Slot Club Promotions and Best Players Club Lounge, so it is worth signing up if you plan to play for a while.

None of this changes the odds of any individual spin. It simply makes a very large floor easier to navigate.

What Players Report About the Slots

User reviews are not evidence of payout rates, but they do give a sense of the experience. A Tripadvisor reviewer who has visited many times described Choctaw as 'one of the best casinos I have ever seen' and said the slot selection is 'one of the largest and best selections of slot machines that I have ever seen.' Another reviewer wrote that 'the slots pay out more money and more frequently' compared with Las Vegas: a personal impression, not a verified statistic.

A 2026 YouTube video from the channel Casino Kelly, filmed on property with a sponsorship disclosure, shows a $20-per-machine challenge across titles including Buffalo Ultimate Stampede, Sweet Swirl, Dollar Storm and a VGT game. The video is entertainment content, not a payout study, and the creator notes she does not fully understand the 'red screen' behaviour on some Class II machines. That is a useful reminder that Oklahoma tribal casinos commonly use Class II bingo-based machines alongside Class III slots, and the two can feel different to play.

The honest summary: players consistently praise the variety and the size of the floor. Claims about machines being 'loose' or paying more frequently are personal impressions and should be treated as such.

Where to Play and What Else Is On Site

Choctaw Durant is a land-based casino resort, so play happens on the property itself rather than through an online lobby. Beyond slots, the resort includes table games, a poker room and a race and sportsbook, plus more than 100,000 square feet of meeting and convention space and a Grand Theater that seats more than 3,000.

For a slot-focused trip, the practical draws are the sheer number of machines, the dedicated high-end slot area, the large non-smoking casino, and the players club. If you are travelling from the Dallas/Fort Worth area, the property is roughly an hour north, and there is an RV park on site for campers.

This guide has not established any particular licence or regulatory status for the venue beyond the fact that it is operated as part of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma's gaming operations. If licensing or legal details matter to you, check the property's own published information directly.
