Activated Bar & Slots Guide 2026: Washington Park, Illinois Venue, Address & What to Know

Editor's Comment

Activated Bar & Slots is a local nightclub and bar listing rather than a casino resort or an online brand. The appeal here is simple: a specific street address on Kingshighway in Washington Park, Illinois, and a name that makes the slot element explicit. There is no published slot floor, game list, or opening hours in the material reviewed, so treat this as a starting point rather than a full venue profile.

• What we liked: A clear, specific street address (1213 Kingshighway) rather than a vague area listing.
• What we liked: The venue is described in news reporting as both a bar and a nightclub, which tells you what kind of setting to expect.
• What we liked: The name makes the slot element explicit, so visitors know the format before they arrive.
• What we liked: It sits in a directory alongside other Washington Park venues, making it easy to compare nearby options.

What Is Activated Bar & Slots?

Activated Bar & Slots is a bar and nightclub in Washington Park, Illinois, at 1213 Kingshighway. News reporting from KSDK describes it as a nightclub where a fatal shooting took place in the early hours of a Wednesday morning, and the same address is given in the Illinois State Police account of the incident (ksdk.com). A separate report from First Alert 4 places the venue in the 1200 block of Kingshighway and describes a person found dead in the parking lot (firstalert4.com).

The name itself is the clearest signal of the format. In Illinois, bars and other licensed establishments commonly host video gaming terminals, which is why so many local pub listings carry 'slots' in the name. That is a general observation about the state's bar scene rather than a confirmed detail about this specific venue: the reporting does not publish a machine count, game list or operator name for Activated Bar & Slots.

Activated Bar & Slots At A Glance

Everything in the table above comes from the news reporting and directory listing. Anything not shown there (hours, machine types, food menu, age policy) should be confirmed with the venue directly.

Where Is It and What's Nearby?

The address is 1213 Kingshighway, Washington Park, Illinois. Kingshighway is a main artery through the area, and the venue sits in the 1200 block. Washington Park is a small village in St. Clair County, directly across the Mississippi River from St. Louis, Missouri, so the venue is within easy reach of the wider metro area.

The directory listing for the venue shows it alongside other Washington Park bars and clubs, including Miss Kitty's, Larry Flynt's Hustler Club and Bell Lounge. If you are planning an evening out, it is worth mapping the Kingshighway strip rather than treating any single listing as a destination on its own.

What the 'Slots' in the Name Means

Slot terminology can be confusing, so it helps to separate two things. The first is the physical slot machine you find in a bar or casino. The second is the BAR symbol itself, which is one of the oldest icons in slot design. As the BetMGM guide explains, the symbol dates back to early US gambling machines, when the BAR icon referred to a stick of gum awarded as a prize because many jurisdictions had laws against gambling for money at the time (casino.betmgm.com).

That history is why 'bar' and 'slots' sit so naturally together in venue names. It does not tell us anything specific about the machines at 1213 Kingshighway, but it does explain why a pub listing with 'slots' in the title is such a common format in the US.

What to Check Before You Visit

Because the reporting is focused on a specific incident rather than a full venue profile, a quick round of checks will save you a wasted trip:

1. Confirm opening hours. Bar and nightclub hours vary widely, and the sources do not publish any.
2. Ask about the gaming setup. If slots are the reason for your visit, check what is actually on the floor before travelling.
3. Check age and ID rules. Gaming areas typically have stricter entry requirements than the bar itself.
4. Look at recent local feedback. The venue is not rated on the directory, so reviews elsewhere may be more current.
5. Plan the wider strip. With other Kingshighway venues nearby, it is easy to build a short route rather than a single stop.

Other Washington Park Bars and Gaming Venues

If you are comparing options in the area, the directory lists several venues in the same village:

• Miss Kitty's: listed as a club in Washington Park.
• Larry Flynt's Hustler Club - St. Louis Strip Club: listed as a pub and bar in Washington Park.
• Bell Lounge Bell: listed as a pub and bar in Washington Park.
• Eddie's: listed as a restaurant in Washington Park.

None of these listings carry ratings yet, so they are best treated as leads rather than recommendations.

If You Were Looking for Something Else

The phrase 'activated bar and slots' is unusual enough that some visitors may have arrived here looking for something different. If you were after online slot play rather than a physical venue, our slot reviews hub and how to play slots guide are better starting points.
