Unicorn Slots Machine: Which Unicorn Slot Are You Actually Looking For?

Editor's Comment

The name 'unicorn slots machine' does not point to a single game. The sources show at least three separate products using unicorn branding, and mixing them up leads to wrong expectations about RTP, paylines and whether real money is involved. The most useful thing this guide can do is separate them clearly.

• What we liked: The sources give enough detail to tell the three products apart by developer, platform and coin type.
• What we liked: Enchanted Unicorn Returns is documented in a full gameplay video from the Orleans Casino in Las Vegas.
• What we liked: The Joyvoo app listing clearly states it uses virtual coins and in-app purchases, not real-money wagering.
• What we liked: Unicorn Reels has a published RTP and volatility range from a licensed operator blog.

What Is the 'Unicorn Slots Machine'?

There is no single slot titled 'Unicorn Slots Machine' in the published information. Instead, the phrase matches three different things:

1. Enchanted Unicorn Returns: a land-based slot from IGT, played at casinos such as the Orleans in Las Vegas. It is a sequel to the original Enchanted Unicorn and includes a pick feature, a hold-and-spin style bonus and a wheel.
2. Unicorn Slots Casino 777 Game: a free social casino app from Joyvoo Ltd. for iPhone and iPad. It uses virtual coins and in-app purchases, not real money.
3. Unicorn Reels: an online slot from Wazdan, distributed via NYX, with five reels, three rows, 10 paylines and three jackpots.

If you meant a specific one of these, the sections below cover each in turn.

Enchanted Unicorn Returns (IGT) At A Glance

No verified RTP, volatility or max win figure for Enchanted Unicorn Returns appears in the published information, so none is stated here.

How Enchanted Unicorn Returns Plays

The gameplay video shows a multi-denomination machine with several bonus features. Exact bet levels depend on the machine configuration at the casino.

1. Enchanted Pick Feature; you work your way up from the bottom, selecting tiles. Finding the unicorn wins all values in that row; selecting the wizard ends the bonus.
2. Hold and Spin: a grid of prizes appears, with mini, minor and grand jackpot values shown. Jackpot amounts vary by machine and casino.
3. Bonus Wheel: triggered from the pick feature or randomly, with a spin awarding a cash prize or a jackpot.
4. Free Games: a scatter symbol triggers free games, which may include wild multipliers and transforming symbols. Exact mechanics vary by machine.

Bonus frequency varies by machine and session; no guaranteed trigger rates are published.

Unicorn Slots Casino 777 Game (Joyvoo Ltd.)

This is a free social casino app, not a single slot machine. The App Store listing describes it as a collection of mythical-themed slot machines including Enchanted Unicorn, Devil's Play, Mythical Beasts, Gypsy Caravan and Lucky Leprechauns. It is developed by Joyvoo Ltd. and rated 18+ for simulated gambling.

The app uses virtual coins. In-app purchases are available at various price points, and the listing states there are hourly free bonus coins, bonus games and a 3D maze for extra coins. There is no real-money wagering or cash payout described in the listing.

If you were looking for a free unicorn-themed slots app rather than a real-money game, this is the one the sources identify.

Unicorn Reels (Wazdan) At A Glance

This is the only one of the three with a published RTP and volatility range in the published information.

How Unicorn Reels Plays

Unicorn Reels is a five-reel, three-row online slot with 10 fixed paylines. The theme is a misty woodland with glowing horseshoes, crystal orbs and unicorns. The game has adjustable volatility, which means you can choose a setting that suits your preference before or during play, depending on the operator's implementation.

The jackpot feature shows Minor, Major and Grand prizes above the reels. RTP and max win figures are not published in the available information.

Mystical Unicorn (WMS): A Related Land-Based Game

There is also a WMS slot called Mystical Unicorn, which is a different game again. According to URComped, it awards at least 10 free spins when three or more castles with a setting sun appear, and the free spins can be retriggered the same way. It also has stacked symbols and two must-win progressives at the top of the machine.

A sequel, Mystical Unicorn Wheel, was released and seen at the Peppermill Casino in Reno. That version adds a wheel feature. This is separate from Enchanted Unicorn Returns and from Unicorn Reels.

Where to Play Each Version

Enchanted Unicorn Returns is a land-based IGT slot. The gameplay video was recorded at the Orleans Casino in Las Vegas, and the player mentions seeing it in the Reno area as well. Availability depends on the individual casino floor.

Unicorn Slots Casino 777 Game is available as a free download from the Apple App Store for iPhone, iPad and Mac. It is a social casino app with virtual coins and in-app purchases.

Unicorn Reels is an online slot from Wazdan. It appears on licensed online casino platforms that carry Wazdan content. This review has not established which specific operators offer it in any given market, so check the game lobby of a licensed site directly.

Mystical Unicorn and Mystical Unicorn Wheel are land-based WMS games. URComped lists them at casinos including Seminole Hard Rock Tampa, Harrah's Cherokee, Peppermill Reno and others, though availability changes over time.
