Mr. Money Bags Slot Review - VGT Classic, Red Screen Free Spins & Aristocrat Sequel

Mr. Money Bags Slot - Editor’s Comment

The Mr. Money Bags name covers more than one machine. The original VGT game is a straightforward, single-payline slot with a retro feel, while Mr. Money Bags Makes a Mint is a modern Aristocrat release with a multi-feature free spins round. That distinction matters because the two games play very differently.

The original VGT version is simple by design. According to URComped’s game page, it uses 7s, cherries, single, double and triple BARs, and a single payline. That makes it a game for players who want a classic, no-frills experience rather than a feature-packed video slot.

The Aristocrat sequel is the more ambitious game. It introduces Red Screen Free Spins triggered by three signature features: Multiplier, Money Bags, and Expanded Reels. These can trigger individually or combine, and the Money Bags feature adds Cash-on-Reels symbols that can contain credits or jackpots. The Expanded Reels feature increases the reel height to six and doubles the line count to 40 during free spins.

What we like most is that the sequel does not abandon the original character. The businessman theme carries through, but the mechanics are brought up to date. The main limitation is that neither the original VGT game nor the Aristocrat sequel has a published RTP in the sources we can verify, so we cannot quote a return-to-player figure. That is a meaningful gap for players who compare slots by RTP.

What We Liked

• The original VGT game is a genuine classic with a clear, simple structure.
• Mr. Money Bags Makes a Mint adds layered free spins with three distinct trigger features.
• The Money Bags feature can place credit or jackpot symbols anywhere on the reels.
• The Expanded Reels feature doubles the line count to 40 during free spins.
• The character and theme remain consistent across both versions.

What is the Mr. Money Bags Slot?

Mr. Money Bags is a slot machine series centred on a flashy businessman character who carries money bags. The original game was developed by Video Gaming Technologies (VGT) and is described by URComped as featuring classic symbols such as 7s, cherries, and BARs, with a single payline. It is a land-based style slot that feels deliberately old-school.

The series was later extended by Aristocrat Gaming with Mr. Money Bags Makes a Mint. This version keeps the character but adds a modern free spins mechanic called Red Screen Free Spins, which can be triggered by three separate features. Aristocrat describes it as a premium makeover of the VGT classic character, drawing on the bingo math associated with the Hunt for Neptune's Gold universe. Mr. Money Bags Makes a Mint

For Irish players, the key point is that these are not online-only slots. They are primarily land-based casino machines, and the Aristocrat page includes a 'Find Where to Play' tool for locating them. The cited sources do not list Irish venues, so availability in Ireland cannot be confirmed from them.

Mr. Money Bags Slot Machine At A Glance

The table below separates the two main versions so that features are not mixed up. Only details confirmed by the cited sources are included.

The original VGT game is a single-payline machine, which means wins are evaluated on that one line. The Aristocrat sequel is more complex, with free spins that can combine features. The absence of a published RTP for either version is a limitation for players who use RTP as a comparison tool. General RTP is a long-run theoretical average, not a prediction for any session.

Mr. Money Bags Slot RTP, Payout and Volatility

No verified RTP, payout percentage, or volatility rating for Mr. Money Bags or Mr. Money Bags Makes a Mint appears in the sources we can cite. We will not guess these figures. If a machine displays an RTP on its paytable or information screen, that is the version-specific figure to check.

Payouts on these machines are shown in coins or credits rather than currency, and the denomination displayed on the machine determines the actual money value of each credit. Check the paytable and the denomination indicator before you start playing. Newcastle Casino how-to-play video

The Aristocrat sequel adds more ways to win during free spins, including expanded reels and Cash-on-Reels symbols. Volatility for either game is not stated in the cited sources, so we cannot classify them as high, medium, or low variance.

How to Play Mr. Money Bags

The original VGT game and the Aristocrat sequel have different control layouts, but the basic steps are similar. The following steps describe the general process for a land-based machine.

1. Check the denomination displayed on the machine before you start. Land-based slots can run at different denominations, and the paytable values are expressed in coins or credits, so the denomination determines what each credit is worth. Newcastle Casino video
2. Decide how many lines or credits to play. On the original VGT game, there is a single payline, so the bet is straightforward. On machines with multiple lines, you may choose to play fewer lines, but only active lines can produce wins.
3. Set your bet using the bet button or touchscreen controls, then press spin to start the reels. Control layouts vary between machines, so check the on-screen prompts if you are unsure which button does what.
4. Press spin to start the reels.
5. Check the paytable for symbol values and any feature triggers. On Mr. Money Bags Makes a Mint, the Red Screen Free Spins are triggered by Multiplier, Money Bags, and/or Expanded Reels symbols on the reels.
6. If free spins trigger, follow the on-screen instructions. Features may activate individually or combine.

There is no strategy that can change the outcome of a spin. The reels are random, and no betting pattern makes a win more likely.

Mr. Money Bags Gameplay, Graphics & Sound

The original VGT game has a retro look. URComped describes the symbols as hearkening back to early slots, with 7s, cherries, and BARs, and notes that the only unique symbol is the Mr. Money Bags icon featuring a cigar-toting businessman. The same source credits the artwork on the outside of the machine with selling the theme. URComped

Mr. Money Bags Makes a Mint is a visual update. Aristocrat calls it a premium makeover of the VGT classic character. The game adds a Red Screen Free Spins feature, and the Money Bags feature introduces Cash-on-Reels symbols that can contain credits or jackpots. The Expanded Reels feature changes the reel height to six and doubles the line count to 40, which is a visible change during free spins.

Sound design is not described in the cited sources. The overall presentation of the sequel is more modern than the original, but both retain the money-bags character as the central identity.

Mr. Money Bags Slot Features

The original VGT game is a single-payline slot with classic symbols. Its main feature is the Mr. Money Bags icon, which is the unique symbol on the reels. There is no free spins round or multiplier feature described for the original in the cited sources.

Mr. Money Bags Makes a Mint has a more developed feature set. According to Aristocrat Gaming, the game includes Red Screen Free Spins, which can be triggered by three signature features: Multiplier, Money Bags, and Expanded Reels. Each feature can trigger on its own, or they can mix and match. The Multiplier feature applies multipliers to the next win. The Money Bags feature adds Cash-on-Reels symbols that can contain credits or jackpots and pay anywhere. The Expanded Reels feature expands the reel height to six and doubles the line count to 40.

These features are specific to the Aristocrat sequel. They should not be attributed to the original VGT game.

Bonus Features: Wilds, Multipliers, and Free Spins

Multiplier Super Red Screen Free Spins

When the Multiplier feature is active, it applies multipliers to the next win. The source notes that not every Money Bags symbol can carry every multiplier. This feature is part of the Red Screen Free Spins round in Mr. Money Bags Makes a Mint.

Money Bags Super Red Screen Free Spins

When active, Cash-on-Reels symbols are added to the reels. These symbols can contain credits or jackpots and pay anywhere. This is the feature most closely tied to the money bags theme.

Expanding Reels Super Red Screen Free Spins

When active, the height of the reels expands to six and the line count doubles to 40. This changes the shape of the play area during free spins.

Wilds

The cited sources do not describe a wild symbol for either version. We cannot confirm whether a wild is present. If a wild appears on the machine, its role will be explained on the paytable.

Free Spins

Red Screen Free Spins are the central bonus in Mr. Money Bags Makes a Mint. They are triggered by the three features above, which can activate individually or together. The original VGT game does not have a free spins feature described in the cited sources.

Other Mr. Money Bags Features

The main additional feature in Mr. Money Bags Makes a Mint is the combination mechanic. Aristocrat states that each of the three features can trigger by itself, or you can mix and match. This means a free spins round could include more than one feature at once, such as Multiplier and Money Bags together. The exact combinations and their frequency are not published in the cited source.

The original VGT game does not have additional features beyond its base game and single payline. Its appeal is its simplicity.

Where to Play Mr. Money Bags

Mr. Money Bags and Mr. Money Bags Makes a Mint are land-based slot machines. The Aristocrat Gaming page includes a “Find Where to Play” tool for the sequel. That tool is the most direct way to check availability in a given region.

For Irish players, availability depends on which venues carry VGT or Aristocrat machines. The cited sources do not list Irish venues for either game, so we cannot confirm that any specific Irish location has these machines. If you are planning a visit, contact the venue directly to ask whether they have the game.

Online availability is also not confirmed by the cited sources. Some land-based slots are later adapted for online play, but we have no source stating that Mr. Money Bags or Mr. Money Bags Makes a Mint is available at Irish online casinos. Check the operator's own game list and terms before assuming an online version exists.
