Lucky Lemmings Slots Review 2026: WMS Bluebird Cabinet, Stampede Features & Where to Play

Editor's Comment

Lucky Lemmings is a WMS Bluebird 1 slot machine that has been around long enough to show up in refurbished machine listings and in player videos from Las Vegas. The hook is the lemming mechanic: a row of lemmings sits above the reels, and when they drop they can turn symbols into wilds or trigger a Stampede or Super Stampede. It is not a game you will find in an online casino lobby, and it is not trying to be. The appeal is the cabinet, the animation and the fact that the bonus features are genuinely different from a standard free-spins game.

What We Liked

• The lemming drop mechanic is unusual and gives the base game something to watch for.
• Stampede and Super Stampede add a second layer beyond the free games.
• The pick bonus at the end of a feature gives players a decision rather than a fixed award.
• It runs on the WMS Bluebird 1 cabinet, which is a familiar and widely serviced platform.

What to Keep in Mind

• This is a land-based machine, not an online slot, so availability depends on the casino floor.
• The sources here do not include an official RTP figure, payline count or release date, so those are not stated.
• Refurbished units are sold for home use, but that is a different product from playing in a casino.

What is the Lucky Lemmings Slot?

Lucky Lemmings is a video slot machine built on the WMS Bluebird 1 cabinet. Ohio River Slots lists it as a Bluebird 1 by Williams and describes it as having several bonus rounds that let players multiply wins or get free plays. The same listing notes the machine is a video slot, typically multi-denominational and coinless, and that it comes with an LCD monitor.

The theme is the joke: lemmings are famous for following each other off cliffs, and the game turns that into a feature. In the supplied play video from Barona Casino in Lakeside, California, the lemmings sit above the reels and drop down during play. When they land, they act as wilds, and the player notes that free games can land behind them, so the lemming does not block the bonus.

It is worth being clear about what this is not. Lucky Lemmings is not a modern online slot with a published RTP, a Megaways engine or a bonus buy. It is a physical machine from the WMS Bluebird era, and the sources here describe it as such.

Lucky Lemmings Slot Machine At A Glance

The cabinet details come from the Ohio River Slots listing, which describes the Bluebird 1 as a WMS platform with rounded doors and Bose speakers. The feature names come from the play video, where the player calls out Stampede, Super Stampede, free games and a pick bonus.

Lucky Lemmings RTP, Payout and Volatility

The published information do not include an official RTP figure, volatility rating or max win for Lucky Lemmings. Rather than guess, this review leaves those blank. If you are playing the machine in a casino, the paytable on the cabinet is the authoritative source for symbol values and any progressive or fixed jackpot information.

What the sources do show is the shape of the payouts. In the play video, the player notes that during a Super Stampede the lemmings were worth 50 credits each, which they described as a dollar each at their bet level. They also mention a 'Reach Lemming awards $150 in credits' message on the screen. Those are observations from one session at one denomination, not a published payout table, so treat them as illustration rather than specification.

The game is not presented as a high-volatility online slot with a documented variance profile. It is a Bluebird-era machine, and the experience is built around the lemming features rather than a headline max win.

How to Play Lucky Lemmings

Playing Lucky Lemmings follows the standard routine for a WMS Bluebird video slot.

1. Choose your denomination. The machine is multi-denominational, so you can select the coin value that suits your budget.
2. Set your bet. The play video shows the player starting on pennies and later considering higher denominations, which is normal for this type of cabinet.
3. Spin the reels. Watch the row of lemmings above the reels as well as the symbols on the reels.
4. Look for the lemming drop. When lemmings fall, they can land on the reels and act as wilds.
5. Watch for the fox. In the video, the player notes that a fox symbol is needed alongside the lemmings, and that the fox can appear on the front or back rail.
6. Trigger the features. Stampede, Super Stampede and free games are the main events. The player also encountered a pick bonus where they chose between 15 and eight games, with the note that lemmings are worth more the fewer games you pick.

There is no strategy that changes the outcome. The lemmings drop when the game decides they drop, and the features trigger on their own.

Gameplay, Graphics and Sound

The look of Lucky Lemmings is built around the lemmings themselves. In the video, the player points out the row of lemmings above the reels and notes that on the machine next to them you can see the lemmings fall off a cliff. The animation is the main draw: when a lemming drops, the player describes it as funny, and the Super Stampede sends a larger group down at once.

The cabinet is a Bluebird 1, which Ohio River Slots describes as having smooth rounded doors and Bose speakers. That matters for a game like this, because the sound and the animation are doing most of the entertainment work. The player in the video repeatedly describes the game as cute and funny rather than intense, and that matches the theme.

There is also a 'big guy' or 'Chungus' character that appears during features, which the player reacts to with amusement. It is that kind of game: the humour is the point.

Slot Features

The features in Lucky Lemmings are built around the lemmings and a small set of supporting symbols.

Lemming Wilds

When lemmings drop onto the reels, they act as wilds. The player in the video notes that free games can land behind a lemming, so the lemming does not block the bonus. That is a useful detail: the wild and the bonus can coexist.

Fox Symbol

The fox appears alongside the lemmings. In the video, the player says they need a fox to go with the lemmings, and later observes that the fox can only appear on the front or back rail. The fox is part of the trigger logic for the lemming features.

Stampede

Stampede is a lemming event where a group of lemmings drops. The player describes it as a smaller version of the main event, and notes that it can award credits.

Super Stampede

Super Stampede is the bigger version. The player says that if you get the Super Stampede, a ton of lemmings fall. In the video, a Super Stampede saw lemmings worth 50 credits each, and the player described the sequence as long and entertaining.

Bonus Features

The bonus features in Lucky Lemmings are where the game separates itself from a standard free-spins slot.

Wilds

Lemmings act as wilds when they land on the reels. The player notes that they get line wins while the lemmings are there, and that free games can land behind them.

Scatters

The sources here do not describe a scatter symbol in detail. The free games are triggered, but the exact trigger symbol is not identified in the linked documents.

Multipliers

The player mentions a 'little multiplier lemming' as one of the features they saw. The sources do not give the multiplier values or how they apply, so this review does not state them.

Free Spins

Free games are the main bonus. In the video, the player triggers free games and notes that they can be retriggered. They also encounter a pick bonus at the end of a feature where they choose between 15 and eight games, with the note that lemmings are worth more the fewer games you pick. That is a risk-and-reward choice inside the bonus.

Other Features

Beyond the main features, the video shows a few extra touches. There is a 'Reach Lemming awards $150 in credits' message on the screen, which the player reads out. There is also a rocket ship animation that the player describes as a random trigger, and a pick bonus where the player chooses a number of games.

The player also notes that the game is from the same studio as Frankenstein, which they identify as Light & Wonder. That is a player observation, not an official confirmation, so it is worth treating as context rather than a verified fact.

One practical point from the video: the player says the machine is 'coinless' in the sense that it takes bills, and that they were playing at El Cortez in Las Vegas. That is a location detail, not a feature, but it helps explain where the game can be found.

Where to Play Lucky Lemmings

Lucky Lemmings is a land-based machine. The play video was recorded at Barona Casino in Lakeside, California, and the player describes it as a new game they saw at G2E before playing it on the floor. That is the most direct evidence of where it can be played.

For home use, Ohio River Slots lists the Lucky Lemmings slot machine for sale as a refurbished Bluebird 1 unit. The listing notes that machines are 100% complete, powered, tested, cleaned and bubble wrapped, and that they work stand alone. It also notes that refurbishment takes 2-3 weeks and that the actual cabinet may vary in colour or size. That is a different proposition from playing in a casino: a home machine is a novelty unit, not a regulated gambling device.

This review has not established an online licence or availability for Lucky Lemmings, because the sources do not show one. If you are looking for it online, check the operator's game list directly rather than assuming it is there.
