Enchanted Unicorn Slots Review - IGT Classic, Treasure Chest Bonus & Returns Version

Enchanted Unicorn Slot - Editor's Comment

Enchanted Unicorn is one of those IGT titles that has quietly stayed in circulation for years, largely because its bonus mechanic is simple and readable. The classic game is a 5-reel, 25-line, 500-credit machine, and the main event is the Treasure Chest bonus, triggered by landing bonus symbols on reels 1 and 5. Inside the chest you pick from five levels containing credit prizes, Unicorns, or Jesters; pick a Unicorn and you collect all credit values in that row. That is a clean, understandable structure, and it is probably why the game has lasted.

The newer Enchanted Unicorn Returns version is a different animal. It keeps the pick feature but layers on expanding wilds, a hold-and-spin, a bonus wheel, and free games. That is a lot of moving parts. If you are looking for the original, make sure you know which version you are playing, because the two are not interchangeable.

What we like about the classic is its honesty. It does not pretend to be a modern Megaways title. It is a straightforward IGT slot with a pick bonus and a clear reel layout. The Returns version is more ambitious, but it also feels busier and less predictable. Neither version is a guaranteed winner, and no strategy changes the underlying maths. Treat the RTP as a long-run theoretical average, not a session forecast.

What We Liked

• The classic Treasure Chest bonus is easy to understand and does not require a manual.
• The 5-reel, 25-line format is familiar to anyone who has played IGT land-based slots.
• Enchanted Unicorn Returns adds genuine variety with expanding wilds, a hold-and-spin, a wheel, and free games.
• The theme is consistent across both versions, so fans of the original will recognise the symbols.

What is the Enchanted Unicorn Slot?

Enchanted Unicorn is an IGT slot machine that originated in land-based casinos and was later converted for online play. The classic version is described as a 5-reel, 25-line, 500-credit game. Its bonus is triggered by landing bonus symbols on reels 1 and 5, which opens the Treasure Chest bonus. Inside, you work through five levels of picks, each containing credit prizes, Unicorns, or Jesters. Picking a Unicorn awards all credit values in that row.

Enchanted Unicorn Returns is a newer IGT version of the same theme. The available gameplay footage indicates it includes expanding wilds, a hold-and-spin, a picking feature, an enchanted picking feature, a wheel spin, and free games. The exact trigger conditions for each feature are not fully detailed in the available material, so check the in-game rules before you play. This is a substantially different game from the classic, so the name alone does not tell you which version you are playing.

Both versions are IGT products. The available material does not confirm specific casino locations for either version. Neither version is presented here as an online real-money game for Irish players, because the sources do not confirm Irish availability or licensing.

Enchanted Unicorn Slot Machine At A Glance

The table below summarises the classic Enchanted Unicorn slot machine based on the available game information. It does not cover Enchanted Unicorn Returns, which has a different feature set.

The classic game is a fixed-format IGT machine. The 500-credit figure refers to the credit meter format, not a maximum win. The Treasure Chest bonus is the main feature, and the Unicorn symbol is the one you want inside the chest because it awards all credit values in its row. The Jester ends the bonus. That is the core loop.

Enchanted Unicorn Slot RTP, Payout and Volatility

We do not have a verified RTP figure for Enchanted Unicorn from an official IGT source. The available game information does not state a return-to-player percentage, volatility rating, or maximum payout. We will not guess these numbers. If you see an RTP quoted for this game elsewhere, check whether it refers to the classic version or Enchanted Unicorn Returns, because they are different games with potentially different maths.

As a general explanation, RTP is a long-run theoretical average of how much a slot returns to players over millions of spins. It is not a session prediction, and it does not mean a game is due to pay out. Volatility describes how the wins are distributed: low-volatility games tend to pay smaller amounts more often, while high-volatility games can go long stretches without a meaningful win. Without a verified figure for Enchanted Unicorn, we cannot say where it sits on that scale.

The classic game's payout structure is built around the Treasure Chest bonus and the base-game line wins. The Returns version adds a hold-and-spin and free games, which changes the payout profile. Do not assume the two versions share the same RTP or volatility.

How to Play Enchanted Unicorn

Playing the classic Enchanted Unicorn is straightforward. The steps below describe the land-based format, which is the version covered by the available game information.

1. Set your bet. The classic game is a 5-reel, 25-line, 500-credit machine, so your total stake is based on the number of lines and the coin value.
2. Spin the reels. The base game pays for matching symbols on active paylines.
3. Watch for bonus symbols on reels 1 and 5. Landing them together triggers the Treasure Chest bonus.
4. Inside the Treasure Chest, pick from five levels. Each level contains credit prizes, Unicorns, or Jesters.
5. If you pick a Unicorn, you are awarded all credit values in that row. If you pick a Jester, the bonus ends.
6. Collect your winnings and continue playing or cash out.

Enchanted Unicorn Returns follows a different rhythm from the classic. The available gameplay footage shows a hold-and-spin, a pick feature, an enchanted pick feature, a wheel, and free games, but the exact trigger conditions are not fully detailed in the available material. Check the in-game rules for the version you are playing.

Enchanted Unicorn Gameplay, Graphics & Sound

The classic Enchanted Unicorn has the look and feel of an older IGT land-based slot. The theme is fantasy, with a unicorn as the central symbol, and the reels are populated with the kind of icons you would expect from a fairy-tale setting. The graphics are functional rather than flashy, which is consistent with its land-based origins. The sound design is similarly traditional, with mechanical reel effects and simple win jingles.

Enchanted Unicorn Returns is a more modern presentation. The gameplay footage shows a larger screen layout with progressive prize displays at the top, a unicorn symbol that can appear on the middle reels, and animated features like the treasure chest and the bonus wheel. The expanding wilds and hold-and-spin add visual variety. The Returns version also includes a free games mode with multiplying wilds, which changes the pace of the base game.

Neither version is a graphical showcase by modern standards, but the classic has a certain nostalgic charm. The Returns version is busier and more feature-dense, which some players will prefer and others will find distracting.

Enchanted Unicorn Slot Features

The classic Enchanted Unicorn is built around a single main feature: the Treasure Chest bonus. There are no expanding wilds, no free spins, and no hold-and-spin in the classic version as described in the available game information. The base game is a standard 5-reel, 25-line affair, and the bonus is the main source of excitement.

Enchanted Unicorn Returns is a different proposition. The available gameplay footage indicates it includes expanding wilds, a hold-and-spin, a picking feature, an enchanted picking feature, a wheel spin, and free games. The hold-and-spin is a lock-and-respin style feature, while the pick feature resembles the original Treasure Chest bonus. The enchanted pick feature is a variant that the gameplay footage suggests may be connected to the progressives, but the exact mechanics are not fully explained in the available material.

If you are looking for the classic Treasure Chest bonus, make sure you are playing the original Enchanted Unicorn. The Returns version has a similar pick feature, but it is part of a much larger feature set.
