5 Times Pay Slot Review 2026: IGT Classic, Multiplier Wins & Where to Play

Editor's Comment

5 Times Pay is not a modern video slot with cascading reels or Megaways. It is a classic IGT reel-spinner built around a single, powerful idea: a symbol that multiplies your win by five. That simplicity is exactly why it has lasted. A Double Spin version adds a third-reel respin when a better outcome is possible. If you want a straightforward multiplier game with no bonus rounds or free spins, this is it.

What We Liked

• The Five Times Pay symbol can turn a modest line win into a much bigger payout.
• Simple three-reel, multi-coin format that is easy to understand.
• The Double Spin variant adds a respin on the third reel when it could improve the payout.
• Still found on some casino floors, though availability varies by location.

What is the 5 Times Pay Slot?

5 Times Pay is a classic IGT slot machine. It is a three-reel, multi-coin game where the key feature is the Five Times Pay symbol. When that symbol appears in a winning combination, it multiplies the payout by five. The game is part of IGT's long-running Times Pay series, which also includes Ten Times Pay and Double 5 Times Pay.

The game has been seen on IGT's S2000 platform, a cabinet that has been a workhorse on casino floors for years. Demonstrations of the S2000 version show the game running at high denominations, and conversions between game themes were common with S2000 machines, which could be changed to different titles.

There is also a Double Spin version. In that variant, if the third reel could improve the payout, the machine respins it. Demonstrations of the Double Spin Five Times Pay show the third reel respinning when a combination could be upgraded, with the game playing a celebratory tune during the respin.

Note: RTP, volatility, and exact paytable values are not published in the published information. Those figures can vary by jurisdiction and machine configuration.

5 Times Pay RTP Payout and Volatility

The published information do not include an official RTP figure, volatility rating, or full paytable for 5 Times Pay. IGT has not published these details in the material available here, and they can vary between jurisdictions and machine settings.

Because 5 Times Pay is a multiplier-driven classic slot, the Five Times Pay symbol is the main source of larger payouts. Exact symbol values depend on the machine's denomination and configuration, so the paytable shown on the machine itself is the only reliable guide to what each combination pays.

Because this is a classic three-reel game without free spins or bonus rounds, the experience is built around less frequent but potentially larger multiplier wins rather than frequent small features. Without an official RTP or volatility statement, players should treat any specific figure with caution and check the machine's information screen where available.

How to Play 5 Times Pay

Playing 5 Times Pay is straightforward, especially if you have played a classic three-reel slot before.

1. Choose your denomination. On multi-denomination machines, you can select the coin value, which affects the cost per spin and the size of the payouts.
2. Select the number of coins. This is a multi-coin game, so you can bet more than one credit per spin. The paytable usually shows different payouts for different coin amounts.
3. Press spin or pull the handle. The game uses a random number generator to determine the outcome of each spin.
4. Watch for the Five Times Pay symbol. If it appears in a winning combination, your payout is multiplied by five.
5. Check the paytable. The paytable on the machine shows what each symbol combination pays and how the Five Times Pay multiplier applies.

On the Double Spin version, the third reel may respin automatically if a better outcome is possible. You do not need to do anything extra; the machine handles it.

Gameplay Graphics & Sound

5 Times Pay is a classic slot, so the graphics are simple by modern standards. The reels feature traditional symbols like bars, sevens, and cherries, along with the Five Times Pay logo. The S2000 cabinet has a standard button panel and a handle on the side for players who prefer to pull rather than press.

Sound is minimal. The Double Spin version plays 'I'm in the money' during a respin, which is a nice touch. Otherwise, the audio is the usual mix of reel stops and win chimes you would expect from an IGT classic. There are no animated characters or elaborate cutscenes here.

Slot Features

5 Times Pay does not have free spins, scatter symbols, or a bonus round. Its feature set is built around the multiplier symbol and, in the Double Spin version, the third-reel respin.

Wilds

The published information do not describe a wild symbol in 5 Times Pay. The game's main special symbol is the Five Times Pay logo, which acts as a multiplier rather than a wild.

Scatters

There are no scatter symbols in this classic three-reel game.

Multipliers

The Five Times Pay symbol is the multiplier. When it appears in a winning combination, it multiplies the payout by five. The exact base values for each symbol are shown on the machine's paytable.

Free Spins

There are no free spins in 5 Times Pay.

Bonus Features

There is no separate bonus round in 5 Times Pay. The game's excitement comes from the multiplier symbol and, on the Double Spin variant, the respin mechanic.

Double Spin Respin

On the Double Spin version, if the third reel could improve the payout, the machine respins it. Demonstrations show this happening when a combination could be upgraded, with the game playing a celebratory tune during the respin. This is not a free spin in the traditional sense; it is an automatic respin of one reel to potentially improve the result.

Other Features

5 Times Pay is a multi-coin game, meaning you can bet more than one credit per spin. The paytable typically shows payouts for different coin amounts. The S2000 cabinet supports multi-denomination play, so you can choose the coin value that suits your budget.

The game is also part of a family of IGT titles. Related multiplier games in the Times Pay series include 10 Times Pay, Double 5 Times Pay, and Super Times Pay. If you enjoy the multiplier mechanic, those are worth looking for.
